Considered the precursor of net art, the Mail Art movement is based on the principle of sending small-format works by mail. The origins of Mail Art, also known as Correspondence Art, lie in the 1960s, when artists sent postcards with poems or drawings by mail instead of exhibiting or selling them through traditional channels.
