Op Art

Op Art is an art movement that gained in importance from the 1950s onwards, which deals with the use of regular, often calculated structures and physical colour effects. Geometric shapes are repeated in black and white, or in contrasting colours, resulting in patterns that give the human eye the impression of different levels. Artistic means are used to create the illusion of a flickering spatial depth, which creates the effect of an optical illusion when viewed.
