- Alex Katz, master of the American landscape, stages shadows, light, and the play of reflections at close range in large format. - Based on the oil painting “Reflections 5” from 2008 (Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris). - The fascination of light: In both Katz's landscapes and his portraits, light is the true protagonist. - Exciting contrasts: light and shadow, bright colors and deep blacks, visible brushstrokes and illusory landscapes, abstraction and figuration. - In 2024, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, among others, honored Katz's landscape painting with the exhibition “Alex Katz. Seasons.”.
