Lithograph in colors in 5 colors. Signed and numbered "no 78". From an edition of 100 copies. On firm wove paper. 25.5 x 35.3 cm. Sheet: 40,5 x 53 cm.
Sheet 10 of 12 from the series "Quelques aspects de la vie de Paris", published by Ambroise Vollard, Paris 1899. One of the few signed and numbered copies in the edition. [AR] More works from the Max Niedermayer Collection, Limes-Verlag Wiesbaden, will be offered in our auctions throughout the year.
LITERATURE: Francis Bouvet, Bonnard. The complete graphic work, Paris 1981, catalogue raisonné no. 68 (illustrated in color, probably a different copy) - - Stuttgarter Kunstkabinett Roman Norbert Ketterer, 20th art auction, November 25, 1954, lot 905.
Dr. Max Niedermayer Collection, Wiesbaden. Dr. Max Niedermayer Estate, Wiesbaden. Private collection, Rhineland-Palatinate (acquired in 1979 from the above). In family ownership since
Good overall impression. Slightly irregular browning with scattered foxing and small brown spots. With slight handling and crease marks. Scattered faint pencil inscriptions in the white margins. One small pinhole in each of the four corners. Small remnants of an old mounting at the top margin. The colors are slightly faded.
