Guerrilla Girls

The Guerrilla Girls are a group of anonymous American women artists who seek to draw attention to sexism and racism in the art world and culture industry and fight discrimination. Founded in New York in the mid-1980s, the members of Guerrilla Girls protect their identities by wearing gorilla masks in public and adopting pseudonyms of deceased female figures. The feminist activists appear in public in a variety of ways, such as through leaflets, posters, actions, books, videos, or stickers.
