Independent Group (IG)

The Independent Group was a loose discussion forum of young artists, architects, writers and critics that met at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London between 1952 and 1955. At their meetings, the members dealt with topics such as advertising or the emerging mass and consumer culture in search of new art forms and provided decisive impulses for the first phase of British Pop Art.
