Section d’Or

The French artists' group La Section d'Or ("Golden Section") was a Paris-based association of cubist painters from the circle of the so-called Puteaux group, who worked in loose fellowship between 1912 and 1914, when the First World War ended their activity. The choice of this name reflects the interest of the artists involved in questions of mathematical proportions. Within the framework of their exhibitions, the group made Cubism accessible to a broad public.
