Die 1903 gegründete Wiener Werkstätte war eine der Wiener Secession sehr nahestehende Produktionsgemeinschaft von Künstlern und Kunsthandwerkern, die sich nach Vorbild der Arts and Crafts Bewegung für eine Aufwertung des Kunsthandwerks einsetzte und nach dem gestalterischen Leitbild des Gesamtkunstwerks versuchte, Kunst und Alltag in allen Lebensbereichen zu verknüpfen.
