Neoprimitivism

Neoprimitivism refers to a short-lived current of the Russian avant-garde at the beginning of the 20th century. The artists were inspired by Russian folk art, especially icon painting, showed great interest in the naïve depiction of children's drawings and combined these influences with the formal language and stylistic means of Expressionism.
