The members of the artists' association Karo Bube were among the most important representatives of the Russian avant-garde and, from 1910 onwards, revolted against the rules of traditional art taught by the academies in the exhibitions of the same name. In 1912, inconsistencies arose within the grouping, with the result that part of the circle of artists split off and formed a new association under the name Donkey's Tail, with the aim of completely detaching themselves from influences from other countries.
