Abstraction-Création

On 15 February 1931, the artists' association Abstraction-Création was formed in Paris, which existed until 1937 and had up to 400 members. It was an association of many different international artists united by the concern to promote non-objective art through exhibitions and publications. The artists' association did not strive for a collective style. Individual styles were to remain, with the majority of the group professing geometric abstraction.
