Glasgow Boys

The Glasgow Boys represent the beginnings of modernism in Scottish painting, introducing the ideas of Impressionism to Scotland in the 1880s and 1890s and developing their own often very colourful interpretations of it. As well as painting in Glasgow and the surrounding area, they sought out scenes of rural life in other parts of Scotland.
