Ephemeral Art

Ephemeral art refers to art forms that are only of short duration and cannot be permanently exhibited as an object in a museum or gallery. The broad spectrum of ephemeral art includes happenings, performances, flash mobs, dance, sound sculptures and flyers. Ephemeral art first appeared in the 1960s in the context of the Fluxus movement, when artworks were created that did not fit into the gallery and museum structure.
