Founded in Padua in 1959, the gruppo enne (Gruppo N), representatives of kinetic and optical art, were very close to the German group ZERO in their guidelines. The group's gallery, Studio N, which opened in Padua in November 1960, quickly became an important centre for experimental art, music and poetry. The members of the group considered themselves experimental designers who saw the informal and any form of expressionism as useless subjectivisms and who were united by the primary concern to explore together.
