Bauhaus

The Bauhaus was founded in 1919 as a college for design in all areas of art near the city of Weimar in Germany. The ultimate goal was to link art, craft, technology and industry, and thus to abolish the boundaries between free and applied art. The principles developed at the Bauhaus have shaped the style of modern architecture and design in particular to this day.
