ZEN 49

The Munich artists' association ZEN 49 was founded on 19 July 1949 with the aim of searching for new forms of expression of non-objective art and advocating their dissemination. Through the exhibitions organised by the group, as well as its adept public relations work, ZEN 49 achieved a breakthrough before a broad public and the group represents a significant contribution in the development of abstract art in Germany and Europe.
