Synthetic Cubism

In this second phase of Cubism, purely two-dimensional pictorial compositions were created and no more attempts were made to create a spatial effect. Collage became a characteristic technique in synthetic cubism, making possible a completely different way of assembling the individual geometric forms and giving rise to entirely new constructions.
