NOTE: Marcel Paray, the original owner of the present work, was Captain of the King Cole Bar at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City, where he befriended Salvador Dali during the 1970s and was the only person allowed to serve Dali in the Bar. Marcel Paray's collection includes elaborate Dali signatures, drawings on book pages, and other unique works. In 1990, Albert Field, Archivist of the Salvador Dali Archives, reviewed an inventory of the collection, which he authenticated in a letter of December 8, 1990. This lot is accompanied by a photocopy of this letter, as well as an archival photograph, signed by Albert Field, of the drawing.
