Oil on cardboard. Inscribed "Ankunft der 1100 Jungfrauen H. Stenner" on the reverse. 39.8 x 58.2 cm.
Study for one of the three murals on the theme of Saint Ursula, created as part of the mural project for the Cologne Werkbund exhibition of 1914. A further oil study was lost in Bielefeld during the Second World War. [AR].

Good overall impression. Two small holes in the center of the upper margin and another small hole in the center of the lower margin. Overall with retouched spots. Edges partly lighter and not fully painted, presumably due to the framing, as well as with a superficial blemish in lower right. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the help of an ultraviolet light and to the best of knowledge.
