Oil on canvas. Signed, dated, titled and inscribed "Köln" on the folded canvas, as well as inscribed with a direction arrow on the stretcher. 202 x 220 cm. . [AW].
- Large work typical of the 1980s and 1990s. - Through rhythmic structure and nuance, Girke created a fascinating illusion of three-dimensionality and motion. - The radical nature of Girke's artistic work is based on the rejection of motifs and the consistent development of his painting as a visual experience. - In 2022, the MKM Museum Kuppersmühle, Duisburg, honored Girke's oeuvre with a major retrospective titled "Raimund Girke. Klang der Stille" .

In good condition. Some traces of craquelure in the impasto areas, outer margins slightly rubbed in places. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the help of an ultraviolet light and to the best of knowledge.
