Oil on fibreboard. Monogrammed in lower center. 106.5 x 60.5 cm.
Verso with a label, inscribed "Aus unseren Tagen Jazz 60/63" by hand. [AR].
- Powerful and with a great sense of the human being, Werner Scholz creates haunting figures with a lasting presence. - Rare motif: only a few works from his oeuvre with a musical theme are known. - Strong colors with black contour lines are typical of the period after the Second World War. - Works by the artist can be found in renowned museum collections, such as the Museum Folkwang in Essen and the Nationalgalerie in Berlin. - In February 2024, an extensive exhibition on the artist's early work will open at the Ernst Barlach Haus in Hamburg.

In good to very good condition. Isolated faint rubbing along the edges of the image due to the framing. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the help of an ultraviolet light and to the best of knowledge.
