曼生早歿，畫作流轉易手，廿載後，竟重見於「菉仲世講」處，時維一八三五年。「菉仲」即高頌禾，浙江仁和人，活躍於嘉道年間，官至兩淮鹽大使，善詩。畫家見之，未知是否憶起當日桑連理館意氣風發、同道歡聚之景況？遂重題，述其淵源。
