Lithograph. Signed and barely legibly inscribed "Épreuve d'artiste" in the lower left. Artist proof aside from the edition of 50 numbered copies. On Arches wove paper (with the watermark). 69.8 x 54.7 cm. Sheet: 75,9 x 56,2 cm.

- Marvelous deep black print from the important series “Femme au fauteuil” (1948/49). - The work shows Picasso's muse Françoise Gilot. - Testimony to the artist's great love of experimentation. - Picasso's portraits of women are among the most 20th century's most famous works of art.

In good condition. With some white retouched spots in the lower margin (probably caused by leaking ink during the printing process), particularly in the area of the signature. The handwritten inscription -Epreuve d'artiste- barely recognizable in the left below the image. A faint handling crease at top center and small brown stains.
