Notation: Inscribed on the front of the moulded base: G. Braque.
Foundry Mark: Foundry mark on the back of the base. Rosini. Next to it numbered 4/8.

The sculpture is a well-executed posthumous cast designed after a gouache by Georges Braque from 1962. Enclosed with the work is a confirmation from Armand Israël, Paris, dated 4 April 2011, which explains this connection.

Provenance:
- Private collection, France

- Detailed bronze with harmonious patina
- One of the largest bronze versions of the "Aréion", which already realised high five-figure sums at international auctions in a much smaller format
- Masterful realisation after a gouache of the famous "Métamorphoses" cycle in a characteristic pictorial language.
