Ebner/Gabelmann 982 H A. Dube H 412 A. Signed, dated, titled and inscribed "Probe“. Trial proof aside from the edition. On firm off-white wove paper. 28.9 x 40 cm. Sheet: 40,1 x 54 cm.
- Effectively executed woodcut in the artist's characteristic style. - Intense depiction of the coast of the island of Sylt, where Erich Heckel spent the turn of the year 1954/55. - Other copies of this expressive woodcut are at the Albertina, Vienna, the Brücke-Museum, Berlin, and the Staatliche Kunsthalle, Karlsruhe.

In good condition. With a few pale and small (brown) spots in the margins. Upper and lower edge with isolated, small creases, not impairing the overall impression. Upper edge with a few slight creases and left side with two small, superficial paper losses. Along the left edge of the sheet with a barely visible, minimal pressure trace.
