Ebner/Gabelmann 763 L a (of b). Dube L 261 a (of b). Signed, dated and inscribed "Probe“ in the botom margin. One of to date 19 known copies. On wove paper. 49.2 x 38.3 cm. Sheet: 70,8 x 52,1 cm.

- Manfred Heckel (1880-1936), the artist's older brother, characterized in dynamic manner. - A today lost tempera painting of the ame motif was made at around the same time. - In 1904 Heckel became acquainted with Ernst Ludwig Kirchner through his brother Manfred.
